Christian Eyer tells us about Carl Craig

Today i am going to talk about a guy from Detroit that conquered the world, a world-class dj : Carl Craig. I personally had the opportunity to host him in one of my dome music showcase, an humble person, also shy sometimes, but very charismatic, for sure a visionary, an icon of the entire electronic music industry, He has been also nominated for a grammy.He released his first track in 1986 on Virgin UK, then other EP on a label managed by Derrick May. In 1991 he launched his label Planet E, his first track on this label was an innovative EP called "4 Jazz Funk Classics", published under the pseudonym 69. In 2011, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the label he made several showcase around the world with all his artists and collaborators.

In the 2000s, Craig further explored Jazz music as producer of the albums "The Detroit Experiment" and "Rebirth" (2009) for the legendary Detroit Jazz collective, Tribe. In 2012 Rolling Stone nominated him as one of the best DJ in the world, and in the same year he appeared on the Mixmag cover. In 2015 Craig has been nominated among the year 100 best DJ by Resident Advisor. In 2000 he founded the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (now called Movement). In 2014, during the ADE festival he launched a new event called "Detroit Love", a project made to gather and support the music from Detroit in many Clubs and festivals all around the world. I hope to have the pleasure to listen to one of his live events because it is always a great experience for me, and for all the electronic music lovers.
